We are looking for summer temporary midwives for Women's Health. As a midwife in Obstetrics, you can work in our delivery ward, maternity ward, and/or within our outpatient unit – the antenatal unit. The antenatal unit includes our obstetric clinic where we handle acute conditions in pregnant women and new mothers. In obstetrics, we also conduct specialist maternity care and fetal diagnostics, including ultrasound and amniocentesis. The operation constitutes one of Sweden's largest ultrasound clinics.

As a midwife in Obstetrics, you will work in a fast-paced and educational environment where you lead and are responsible for the work during delivery, as well as for the care of mother and child during the maternity period. You will work in a team with nurses, nursing assistants, obstetricians, and section leaders.

Within the combined women's health services, there is also the opportunity to work in the acute gynecological services.

With us, good patient interaction is always in focus. Therefore, we emphasize that you as a midwife, together with your team, can work closely with patients.

About you

We are looking for someone who has a Swedish midwifery license or who will complete their education by June 2026. We seek midwives who are structured, take initiative, and are skilled at organizing their work. You can take a leading role when the situation requires it and have a professional demeanor towards patients and relatives. We highly value personal qualities.

We are looking for summer temporary staff during the holiday period weeks 23-35 (June 1 - August 30). We prefer that you can work 8 consecutive weeks, of which 4 weeks in July.

In order to provide our patients with good and safe care, it is important that our employees have good language skills and the ability to communicate effectively in Swedish.

At Sahlgrenska University Hospital, care is provided around the clock, which means that you may work days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Sahlgrenska University Hospital has a time allocation linked to night shifts, which reduces the weekly working hours for each night worked.
